Jesus offers an invitation for the weary and burdened to come to Him and learn from Him (Matthew 11:28-30)
He describes the relationship as being yoked or joined to Him. This connection offers gentle guidance leading to the rest and peace of ones soul. In prayer, talk to Him and accept His invitation to be connected to Him and ask for the Holy Spirit to enable you to understand and empower you to follow His directions.

SUCCESS

Joshua 1:7-9 teaches us about the Lord telling Joshua that his success would be achieved if he was strong and courageous. He was to meditate on, speak and obey the law forwarded by Moses to the people. The Lord reminded Joshua that He would be with him wherever he went.

Jesus summed up the law in His teaching about loving God and others. To achieve success does take strength (discipline) and courage (faithfulness) to meditate on, speak and obey the directions of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey God to enable us to live to please Him -- to be successful.
Acts 5:29-32

Directions from God's Spirit to us may seem as faint as the sweet aroma of roses, but we are to train ourselves to be aware of His Presence and humbly try to follow His guidance.

EXPANDING OUR VIEW

The development of powerful telescopes and camera lenses and filters and high quality image reproduction in printing have brought the spectacular beauty of the far reaches of our universe to public viewing. I first saw a photograph of a nebula, like the one above, at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. One of my ways of studying the wonders of God's creation is to paint what stirs my spirit. Of course, my artwork is not meant to be a detailed reproduction, but instead an artistic representation. May you be blessed to discover more and more of the grandeur of the universe and praise and thank our Creator.
Read: Genesis 1:1 and Isaiah 45:12 and Colossians 1:16 and Revelation 4:11

ANGELS

I have never been personally aware of being helped by an angel but I have heard the testimony of those who have. Hebrews 1:14 teaches that angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. Almost every book of the Bible teaches about angels including the words of Jesus about the angels children have in heaven (Matthew 18:10) and the reference in Psalm 91:10 about those who trust in the Lord being cared for by angels. We are not to worship angels, but I have been known to pray for the Lord to release His angels to help a specific person.(Revelation 19:9-10) It is possible to be in the presence of an angel of God without knowing it. (Hebrews 13:1-2) May you be blessed by an angel of the Lord.

PRAYING IN FAITH

Scripture teaches us that God not only created the heavens and the earth, but that He has the power to continue to direct what He created. A few years ago, when a fire was burning out of control near the coast of Southern California, our Bible study class prayed that He would change the direction of the wind to cause the flames to blow back upon themselves. The next morning the fire chief reported that a sudden wind blew in from the ocean and helped to stop the progress of the fire. God encourages us to pray in faith and to thank Him for blessings.

Psalm 135 verses 3 to 7 tells of God directing the weather. Zechariah 10:1 encourages prayer for rains in the spring to aid in the growth of crops.

PRAYER: Lord, I humble myself and put my faith in You. Hear my prayer. . . .

WRITING LETTERS

The hand written envelope lifted my spirit even before I opened the letter to read the contents. Inside were a few sentences of appreciation and words of encouragement. Whether we communicate by paper or with any of the new messaging devices, writing to someone can convey a powerful message: 'I care about you.'

Do you receive any inspirataion about letter writing from 2 John or 3 John in the New Testament?

PRAYER: Father God, to whom am I to write? By Your Holy Spirit, teach me to write letters of truth, encouragement and love. Amen.
