Reading the Holy Bible is Listening to God
Peter explained that he wrote as an eyewitness about Jesus. II Peter 1:16-18
Luke explained that he carefully investigated and wrote from eyewitnesses and servants of the Word.
Luke 1:1-4
Paul, who wrote many of the letters of the New Testament, explained that he did not preach something that man made up but what he was taught by revelation from Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:11-12
II Timothy 3:16-17 reminds us that all Scripture is from God and should be used to teach us and equip us for the work God intends for each of us to do.
Jesus, the Word of God, became flesh and lived among us. He only spoke the words God told Him to speak. He only did what God told Him to do. So reading the words of Jesus in the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is listening to God.
Read about this in John 1:1-18
and John 5:19-20 and 7:16-17
A heart willing to learn and obey God's Word, as related in the Holy Bible, will be honored by God and met by the Holy Spirit who will bring understanding to mind and spirit, enabling one to walk in light and love.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me understand Your Word. Turn my heart to Your truth and away from worthless things that I may walk in the path provided by Your light. Keep me from deceitful ways. Give me knowledge and good judgment. May Your Word inspire me to know how best to use my time. Though the arrogant mock me, my hope and trust is in You. I accept Your unfailing love. I know that you have delivered me from death so that I may walk in the light of life. I praise and thank You. I worship and adore You. May You reign over my life forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer adapted from Psalm 119 verses 29-30, 34-37, 41, 51. 66, 73, 105 and Psalm 56:10-13 and Psalm 89:15-16
Application Suggestion:
Turn to the Holy Bible as a user's guide given by our Maker. As the Holy Spirit brings revelation about how to live to please God, choose to make life decisions in agreement with the teachings of Scripture.

The role of a prophet of God is like a mailman who is to deliver a message from One to another. He is not to change the wording. He may not even know the meaning of the words but, he is to forward them to whoever God chooses. Therefore, our reading the prophets of the Old Testament is listening to God and learning what He told His people and by this we can know what God blesses. Refer to Peter 1:20-21
