Commit yourself to God and trust in Him and He will shine His righteousness through you like the dawn and His justice like the noonday sun.

Commit Yourself to God and

to Walking in the Light of Christ

Jesus is the light sent from God available to all who will follow Him.  Choose to walk in His light of life.  John 8:12

In Revelation 3:19-20 the words of Jesus explain that He stands at the door and knocks and if anyone hears His voice and opens the door, He will come in and be a part of our daily life.  But, He explains that because of His love for us, He disciplines us and expects us to earnestly desire to live to please Him and to change our habits as He urges us to do.

As recorded in John 15:1-13, Jesus refers to Himself as the true vine and the branches are those who have invited Him to live in them.  Branches must be connected to the vine to stay alive and to produce the fruit which they were created to develop.  We must be linked with Jesus to live fruitful lives.  Without this connection to Him we can do nothing of eternal value.  In this Scripture, God is compared to a gardener who prunes the branches so they will produce even more fruit.  He cuts away branches that bear no fruit.  If we take our nourishment from Jesus, learning from His life and teaching, we will be His disciples.  As followers of His Way. we are to fashion our behavior and words from the pattern He has given to us.  As we adapt our lifestyle to the principles taught by Jesus, we will bring much glory to God and the joy of Jesus will be in us.  His command is that we love each other as He has loved us.  He laid down His life for us.

Refer to I John 2:3-6

By our own effort we are not able to live as we know we should.  But as we commit ourselves to God and choose to walk in the light of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us.  The power of the Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead is available to us to put to death the sinful desires of our nature.  As we are led by the Spirit, He helps us in our weakness.  He even helps us pray in harmony with the will of God.   Refer to Romans chapter 8 and I John 4:12

Prayer

Lord, I choose to live according to Your truth.  Give me an undivided heart so that I may be totally committed to You.  My desire is that even my thoughts are obedient to Christ.  May I have Your gift of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that I may know You better and know the hope to which I have been called and know the great power You have for us who believe.

Concepts from Psalm 86:11 and Ephesians 1:17-19 and II Corinthians 10:5

Application Suggestion:

Start each day with a commitment to learn from the Lord and adapt your life to His Way.  Thank Him that He provides a solid foundation and strength in time of trials to everyone who hears His words and obeys Him.  Refer to Matthew 7:24-27

The broken pieces of one's life can be reshaped by God's hands.  What seems used and hurt and beyond repair can be made into another vessel which is pleasing to God.  We may invite God into our life as the Potter, ourselves being the clay.  If we are willing, He holds and molds us.  As we live in the cup of His hands, we remain in the protection of His Presence.

Isaiah 64:8 proclaims the Lord as the Potter and we are the work of His hands.  Read also Isaiah 29:15-16 an Jeremiah 18:1-6 and Romans 9:16-21
